A redirect ability changes which player carries out an ability or which character benefits from the numbers (strength and toughness) on a card.

How to PlayEdit

A redirect ability can redirect an ability or a card's numbers (strength and toughness). Redirect abilities that redirect an ability are instantaneous. Redirect abilities that redirect numbers (strength and toughness) are ongoing. Redirect abilities that redirect an ability target the ability that is to be redirected. Redirect abilities that redirect numbers (strength and toughness) target the card that the numbers (strength and toughness) are on.

Redirecting a Special AbilityEdit

Abilities can only be redirected while they are interrupted. Redirecting an ability allows the player using the redirect ability to change which cards are targeted by the redirected ability. The new target can be the same target as was originally targeted. Redirecting a card does not change which player played or used the card, but does change which player causes and carries out the effect.

Redirecting Numbers (Strength and Toughness)Edit

Numbers (strength and toughness) can be redirected without being interrupted. Redirecting numbers reduces the numbers (strength and toughness) of the target by the amount redirected and increases the numbers (strength and toughness) of the redirecting card by the same amount.

Default ConditionsEdit

  • Targets must be “in battle.”
  • Ongoing redirect abilities last until the end of the phase in which they are used.

Special ConditionsEdit

  • Numbers (strength and toughness) only affect a battle while they are in the battle. If the numbers (strength and toughness) of a card are redirected and that card is removed from battle the increase gained from redirecting that card is lost.
  • A redirect ability that redirects both the ability and numbers (strength and toughness) of a card is actually two redirect abilities.
  • When choosing new targets for a redirected ability, restrictions on what can be targeted are applied from the perspective of the player using the redirect ability.

ClarificationsEdit

  • Redirecting a card does not change its location in battle. It physically remains on the character on which it was played, even if it is now working against that character.
